All of the shades are motorized and automated via RS232 to the main control panel for the home.

“The Longmont SmartHome is the most advanced home automation project that Solar Eclipse Shades has participated in to date,” according to Wayne Puglisi, owner of Solar Eclipse Shades. The Longmont SmartHome will also serve as a site for research into the use of technology to benefit the long term needs of disabled individuals in both residential and family home settings. It’s not just a UV shade structure, it’s a work of art! ”Since we installed the shade structure last year, we have increased our customer traffic by 25% and our total sales are up over 30%,” according to Keith Feltner, President of Bay Breeze Car Wash of Brandon. “Customer comfort and employee productivity have increased tremendously. We also take pride in the fact that we have provided our employees with a safe environment by protecting them from the sun.” Thanks to the increased business generated by SKYShades, Bay Breeze Car Wash has opened a second location in New Tampa, Florida.

It not only provides shade for patrons waiting to enter the museum, but it is an exhibit onto itself. Step inside the new, 60,000-square-foot History Center in Tampa’s bustling Channelside District and take a journey through 12,000 years of powerful stories. Follow in the footsteps of the first native inhabitants, Spanish conquistadors, pioneers, presidents, sports legends, and railroad tycoons. Stroll through a 1920’s-era cigar store. Explore exhibits about the places and people who shaped the Tampa Bay area. The four-floor History Center boasts a stunning atrium, interactive and immersive exhibits, theaters, map gallery, research center, event hall, museum store, and the internationally acclaimed Columbia Cafe. The history of the Tampa Bay region comes alive within these walls.

According to the architect, the eating area lacked openness and natural light. SKYShades proposed the 40′ X 40′ canopy shown in the picture. The design utilizes a 43 ft tall center mast with a sail attached to reflect the Marriott’s logo. The conic roofing structure is a Teflon Coated Fiberglass fabric (PTFE) that is wind rated to 130mph and has a 35+ year life expectancy. Tension membrane structures demand a high degree of specialist knowledge and experience in the design, engineering, fabrication and installation stages. The Marriott Cypress Harbor project installation required that our structure had to be lifted over an existing building and around a large oak tree on the premise. SKYShades can mobilize our technical staff, who have over 150 years experience in manufacturing tension membrane shade structures, to provide solutions to our clients needs with the highest level of confidence. The Marriott Cypress Harbor Resort also purchased several resort umbrellas and shade sails for their property from SKYShades. We would love the opportunity to discuss how our products might benefit your business. Please contact us for more information.

Our interior window shades come in a variety of designer colors and will fit in almost any opening.

One of the added benefits of Interior Retractable Blinds is not only their ability to cool down any living space, but they also help to avoid sun damage to your furniture and carpets. In addition, they can be motorized and activated by remote control, so you can operate one or all of them with the push of a button.

Our Interior Retractable Shades also have commercial applications. They can be installed anywhere from a large office building or apartment complex to a small store front window. Interior drop shades can also be manufactured with your logo or a printed message, giving you added marketing value while also cooling down your space for your customers, not to mention the added savings to your energy costs.

The featured center piece consists of two intersecting hypar sails (1 black and 1 terracotta). The two sails intersect; therefore, the design, pattering, and manufacturing had to be exact, so under tension the two sails don’t touch. The dramatic height differences in the high and low points of the sails define this unique structure. The end result is a beautiful representation of SKYShades engineering expertise.
